ABOUT CONGO

Context Of Democratic Republic of Congo

Decades of war in the Democratic Republic of Congo have had a devastating impact on the country's population, particularly women. Women have suffered horrific violence, including widespread use of rape as a weapon of war. The conflict has also displaced millions, disrupting traditional economic roles and leaving many struggling to survive. The education system has faced many challenges; low enrollment and completion rate, teacher shortages, infrastructure issues with schools lacking basic facilities and resources. This has created an increasingly difficult learning environment. The ongoing war has established poverty and weakened the entire social and economic system. In spite of this incredibly challenging environment, men and women continue to create inspiring solutions and opportunity for their families and children to thrive.

At Congo Connect & Thrive, we are dedicated to helping these solutions & dreams become a reality for communities.
